About the Odisha Nursing Board
Odisha Nursing Board is fully functional with effect from Date 18.02.2013. Odisha Nursing Board is one of the Directorates within the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Govt of Odisha. The Odisha State Board Of Nursing is the central body from which all activities relating to Nursing are managed. This includes all involving nursing and midwifery practices, providing Primary Health care, and fulfillment of Millennium Development Goal on reduction of Maternal and Child mortality. The Board is the authorized body that gives affiliation to the nursing colleges within Odisha state. The Board has many affiliated govt. and private ANM Colleges, GNM Colleges, B.SC Nursing Colleges, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Colleges, M.Sc Nursing Colleges with the Odisha state.
- Nursing Council.
- Nursing Board.
- Nursing Management Support Unit (NMSU).
- Nursing Establishment and Administration.
The mandate:
A fully functional and empowered Directorate of Nursing with the best quality of education (including skills and competencies) being imparted in the Nursing Institutions Confident and competent Clinical Nursing services being rendered at the Hospitals in the state. A Public Health Nursing cadre providing the best available services to public health in the field and ensuring the full benefits of all the Govt. initiatives reach the beneficiaries as envisaged to strengthen the Directorate of Nursing the following 3 broad areas are being strengthened:
- Clinical Nursing.
- Nursing Education.
- Public Health Nursing.
